Celtic Prayer for Forgiveness

Prayer for Forgiveness

O Lord of mercy,

Giver of grace,

You see my heart,

You know my ways.

Like the woman who wept at Your feet,

I come with my burdens,

Seeking the peace of Your embrace.

Christ of the Cross,

Lamb who was slain,

You bore my debt,

You cleansed my stain.

As the river flows through the valleys wide,

Let Your mercy wash over me,

Carrying my sins far from Your sight.

Holy Spirit,

Breath of the wind,

Teach me to walk

In freedom again.

Break the chains of guilt and shame,

Fill my heart with love’s pure flame,

That I may forgive as I’ve been forgiven.

Father of kindness,

Keeper of light,

Guide my steps

Through the dark of night.

Like stars that shine on the ocean deep,

May Your truth and wisdom lead,

And Your hand be ever near.

Blessed are those

Whose sins are covered,

Whose hearts are cleansed,

Whose souls are free.

By Your grace, I rise anew,

To walk in peace,

To love in truth,

Now and evermore. Amen.

Celtic Prayer for the Family

A Celtic Prayer for the Family

O Lord of hearth and home,
Bless this family gathered here.
Be our light in the morning,
Our shield in the noonday,
Our peace in the evening,
And our rest through the night.

Bind us together with cords of love,
Stronger than the storm,
Softer than the dew,
Gentler than the whispering wind.

May our words be kind,
Our hearts be pure,
Our hands be open in giving,
And our feet swift in serving.

Bless the little ones with joy,
The weary ones with strength,
The troubled ones with peace,
And the elder ones with wisdom.

Christ before us, Christ behind us,
Christ within us, Christ around us.
In our laughter, in our sorrow,
In our labor, in our rest—
Ever be our guiding star,
Until we rest in Thee.

Amen.

Celtic Prayer for God’s Presence

God Is Near

☩ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, You are nearer than breath, closer than shadow,

You walk before me in light and behind me in mercy.

In You, I live and move and have my being,

For Your hands have formed me, and Your Spirit sustains me.

When I seek You in the quiet, You are there.

When I cry in sorrow, You draw near.

When my heart is barren as a fig tree without fruit,

You, O Gardener of Souls, tend me with patience.

Break the hardness of my heart, O Lord,

That I may bear fruit in Your time.

Let me not wither in self-sufficiency,

Nor be deaf to the whisper of Your voice.

Teach me to trust Your nearness in the night,

To hear Your footsteps on the path before me.

When I am weary, be my rest.

When I am lost, be my way.

When I falter, uphold me,

For You are the God who never leaves nor forsakes.

As the sun rises over the hills, so does Your mercy rise anew.

As the rivers run to the sea, so do I return to You.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, now and forevermore.

Amen.

☩ Christ beside me, Christ before me, Christ within me.

Night Prayer of Surrender and Rest

A Celtic Night Prayer of Surrender and Rest

O Christ, my Shelter and my Peace,

As darkness falls and the world grows still,

I place myself in Your hands.

You are my refuge through the night,

My keeper as I sleep.

The burdens of the day, I lay at Your feet.

The worries I cannot carry, I surrender.

The unknowns of tomorrow, I entrust to You.

For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

As the stars keep their silent watch,

So too do You, O Guardian of my soul.

You never slumber, You never sleep;

You are ever near, ever faithful, ever true.

Be the peace within my heart,

Be the light within my dreams,

Be the breath that fills my rest,

Be the arms that hold my soul.

Shield me from all harm, O Christ.

Let no fear disturb my sleep,

Let no shadow trouble my heart.

Cover me in the warmth of Your love,

And awaken me in the morning of Your mercy.

For the night is Yours, and the day is Yours.

My life is Yours, now and forever.

In the name of the Father,

And of the Son,

And of the Holy Spirit,

One God, now and always.

Amen.
