A Celtic Midday Prayer for Realignment and Peace
O Christ, my Resting Place,
In the heat of the day, in the weight of the hour,
I turn to You.
When my mind is weary and my heart is restless,
Be my stillness, be my peace.
The sun stands high in the sky,
And so my soul stands before You now.
I bring the burdens I have carried,
The words I have spoken,
The thoughts that have strayed,
And I lay them at Your feet.
O Lord of perfect peace,
Steady my heart,
Quiet my mind,
Renew my strength.
Let me not be ruled by hurry or worry,
But by the rhythm of Your grace.
Let me not be weighed down by toil,
But lifted by the work of Your, hands.
Bless this noonday hour, O Christ.
Bless the labor that is done,
The tasks yet unfinished,
The people I encounter,
And the words yet to be spoken.
Be in my breath, that it may slow.
Be in my hands, that they may serve.
Be in my heart, that it may rest in You.
I pause in the light of Your presence,
And I remember:
You are here.
You are faithful.
You are enough.
In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,
One God, now and forever.
Amen.
